  • Cleaning, hygiene & HACCP based procedures
  • Storage, handling & transport

  • Waste disposal
  • Final product dispatch

Ireland’s Food Waste Charter Member

We have joined Ireland’s Food Waste Charter to work together to actively reduce all types of Food waste across Ireland’s Food Supply chain. As well as helping Ireland to meet its food waste targets, we must be actively working together to reduce our Carbon Footprint.

Being members of this organisation ensures Waldron Family  Meats are taking the necessary steps to adapt our processes & practices and improve circularity of our environmental performance and ensuring we are reducing our overall Food Waste.

Packaging

Over the past two years, we’ve significantly reduced the amount of packaging used in our products and deliveries while ensuring our customers still receive their orders in perfect condition.

  • Material Reduction – Through smarter design and supplier collaboration, we have cut the overall weight of our retail and online packaging by over 30%, removing unnecessary layers and replacing bulky materials with lightweight, durable alternatives.

  • Right-Sizing – We’ve moved away from “one-size-fits-all” boxes to right-sized cartons for each order, reducing void space and eliminating the need for excess filler materials.

  • Fully Recyclable & Reusable – All online delivery packaging—boxes, ice packs, and insulated liners—is 100% recyclable. Our gel ice packs are non-toxic and designed for reuse, helping customers reduce waste at home.

  • Sustainable Sourcing – Where possible, we use packaging made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) cardboard and paper, supporting the circular economy.

  • Ink & Printing – We’ve switched to water-based, low-impact inks, which require less energy to produce and have a lower environmental footprint than traditional printing methods.

  • Supplier Partnerships – Working closely with packaging partners, we have replaced plastic shrink wraps on certain product lines with compostable film made from plant-based materials.
